I took the plunge and registered for a booth at the annual Starving Artist Show
April 2 & 3 , 2005 in La Villita, Downtown San Antonio, TX and had a blast.

I did many, many portrait sketches and sold one painting and made several great connections–

people considering portrait commissions and other artists. Betty deserves a medal for

all the help she gave throughout that weekend.

Austin Pastel Society's 2005 Membership Exhibition,

called The Corridor Show, is still going as of this writing.
March 6 – May 1 , 2005
Two of my paintings were juried in. Both paintings received awards- "Christina's Joy”

won First Pace in the portrait category and "Concession to Comfort" won Third place

in the portrait category. Both awards came with terrific prizes. If you’re in Austin I hope

you’ll go by and enjoy all the beautiful paintings.

San Antonio Art League Museum’s 2005 Exhibition honored me by jurying in my painting,

"Suspended," and honored me further by awarding me the Sponsor's award! It’s even

on the cover of the exhibition's catalog! The sponsor's award came with a beautiful

$700. check. You can bet I did a happy dance.

That painting is available for $800. at the SAAL Museum.
